Looks like it's still there.

This was posted a few days ago. Looks like someone is ticked.

But you are right, from the main page, there doesn't appear to be any links to the forums or Community or Discussions. I expect they will either spin it off to a completely disconnected site, or drop the forums altogether.

There are ONLY 91 threads in the entire Marine area.

I have ONLY 1 surviving post, and it's there only because it's part of the Photo Album and not an actual forum thread. I had 66498 posts on mil.com at one time. Even the post count is gone now. But it was 66498.

Looks like they finally deleted his posts except in the Navy forums.

It took them the whole weekend to finally get to them!

Here it is in its vulgarity:

That's the rumor going. The admins won't even bother to address that whether they are true or not.

They made many useless changes. They wanted the counts to reflect whatever members' posts were still there and not purged.

They purged the Marine Obituary forums!

I just scouted MDC and the moderators of yore were downgraded to member status only leaving a "forum admin" (I wonder who he or she is) to police the place. If new vets or active duty ever stumbled in the forum area, they'll never know how great that place once was!

But no matter, MCC will take its place!

At its heyday, MDC forum were quite extensive. Some posts had hundreds of replies, which can take a while to read. I can't believe the wealth of experiences, many of which is first hand knowledge just got wiped clean off their server and hard drive? Iff it did got razed, then he or she is definitely a crazed lunatic and worthy for a firing squad!
