It's been ten years now and I still have letters from my son when he was at Parris Island. No plans to get rid of them either.

I enjoyed reading through this thread. Good luck to your son and to you as well.

As mentioned earlier here, my mom kept the many old letters that I wrote to her and dad. They are both long gone now.

That said my big sister made sure I got all those old letters back after my mom passed.

I had not looked at those old letters in a long time, so not long ago I read them all again...my eyes were watering some...something was in my eye and you know that's a lie.
