24 hours after they shipped they call you and say exactly what is posted on the wall in front of them:

"Hello, this is recruit Jones stating that have arrived safely at MCRD San Diego. The next time you will hear from me will be postal mail. So expect a letter in 2-3 weeks. I love you GOOD BYE!!! click-

No time for a convo...

I will keep everyone posted... Here's a Pic of him and his Navajo buddy seeing their first D.I. Facebook has a link for parents to go to .. Marines take random pics of each Company. Right now he's in Charlie Co. Receiving, he should pick up Friday.

I recall us getting on the green bus at Lindbergh field to go to MCRD in 1976. While we waited for it to fill up there was no Marine attending it for just a moment. At that time some bum comes up to the side of the bus and says something to us through the open windows like man are you guys really going in to the Marines don't you know what they are going to do to you there?

Someone says no what to which he replied man they are going to beat the shit out of y'all! I thought oh shit man what the hell am I doing here?
