Travis Perkins(left) and I got together for lunch 45 years after returning from Thailand.

I have found 12 of the other 28 1966 crew members from Sattahip. Howard Morse has since crossed the bar. In my original search 5 or 6 years ago I found six crew members that had crossed the bar.

Crossed the bar: Kaufmann CO, Monson XO, Corcoran ETCS, Lee ENC, Gass ET1, Havrilla HM1

I received my Vietnam Service Award in 1986, 19 years late. They did not fix the awards manual then. So 5 or 6 years ago I work with Deneen Day and Admiral Thad Allen to get the award manual corrected. Well guess what, in August they updated the manual and did not include the Thailand stations.

I really was the "thin man" back then.

Admiral's visit in Sattahip.

Lt behind Admiral, ETCS, EMC ET1 HM1 (Left to Right) front row and Howard Morse second from right front row have all cross the bar.

I talk to Chris Sagare (third from the right front row) from time to time and had a beer or two years ago in Seattle. XO was down on Con Son Island station in Vietnam at the time of the picture. Chris

Sattahip buildings are still standing today.

Lampang building today.

Location of the Tan My slave build later in 1969. 34 miles South of the DMZ near Hue, VN.

The monitor was just South of the outer perimeter of Udorn AFB next to the garbage dump. It was a series of trailers.
