Default Gomer Pyle dies at 87

Jim Nabors dies at 87. He played a Marine, Gomer Pyle on TV.

Shazaaam, he will be missed.

I️ wanted to watch everything I️ could about the military when I️ was a kid. I️ watched homer Pyle everyday after school. I️ was always disappointed that they were rarely doing anything military. Most of I️t was just to get a laugh. I wanted to see guns and maneuvers and bivouac. I️ wanted to learn how to be a marine and fight.

I️t was not about learning to fight.

One show was about how not to get pick pocketed while going to town and going on a date.

I see the re- runs that are on now, and I never noticed before but there is one guy in his " platoon" that never has the iron on emblem on his utilities. I forget the guy's name but I did not notice him being portrayed as a corpman ...... Figured I would ask you guys so I can stop fixating on this when I see it on.

Slater (played by Ronnie Schell). I see in season 1 he does not have the emblem on his utilities. I haven't noticed the other seasons yet.

Ya I think Gomer calls him "Duke" . Never see any rifle qual on his uniform nor the iron- on on utilities. I am not sure what season they are running now. And of course I have no idea why I am fixated on this....I figured there must be a reason.
