Default Hello communicators!

I joined a while back but have not really posted. Thought I would get started.

Back in 1969 I was assigned to the Comm Center, MWCS-1, MWHG-1, 1st MAW, Danang RVN. I came to the unit as a snot nosed, yet to grow up, L/Cpl and left there an experienced comm center man.

After returning to the States, I was assigned to the Station Comm Center, MCAS Beaufort SC. Immediately upon reporting in, I was taken to the Personnel Office downstairs, and the following Friday I was promoted to Sgt and made a Watch Officer. Shortly thereafter, I was sent to San Diego for Comm Center Chief Course. There were about 5-6 of us who were Sgts and not Staff NCOs. A message was sent out stating that those Sgts would remain 2542s until such time as they made SSgt. They left my name off the list. About a month later I received orders to MAG-32 MCAS Beaufort where I became the new Message Center Chief. After about 2.5 years at Beaufort, I was reassigned to 3rd FSR, Camp Foster on Oki. Shortly after arriving, my name came up on the promotion list to SSgt. Whatever forces were working, I made SSgt from the below list and with the precedence # 65 and was promoted in April 73. Returned to the States and was sent to Station Comm Center, MCAS Cherry Point. After a year and a half, I got orders for the Defense Communications Agency - Europe and off I went to Stuttgart, Germany for 3 years. 6 months before I left, I made Gunny in just under 11 years. Decided to get out for family reasons. Went to college, got a job, and then joined the Army National Guard. Did enough time to get 21 years and then retired. After 10 years, I requested to reenlist in the active guard. I made it through the physical and joined the active guard and then started my search for a unit that was going to Iraq. I found one and went to Iraq on Gun Truck security duty at Camp Taji near Baghdad. Turned 58 at Taji. Returned after a year and then started my process for my retirement. I ended up with 13 active years and 13 reserve years. It was a long haul, but worth it.

I would like to hookup with anybody who might have served with me or at the same bases.
